London Climate Action Week

29th November 2018 by CMIA

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan has announced the first ever London Climate Action Week will take place between 1-8 July 2019.

London is a world leader in climate action. Its businesses and organisations are a hub of expertise in finding solutions to cutting carbon emissions and adapting to the impact of climate change both locally and globally.

The first ever London Climate Week will bring together London’s climate expertise and talent from across sectors to focus on scaling up practical solutions and identifying new solutions to help cut our carbon emissions to keep global temperature increases within 1.5 degrees and support the Paris Agreement.

These may be climate solutions for Londoners, businesses, civil society groups or even local, national and international governments.

The Mayor is inviting people from across London’s climate change leaders and organisations to propose events for a week of action. We want partner organisations to showcase how practical climate solutions can be scaled up on a city-wide, if not world-wide level. We also want to hear innovative solutions that can address the climate challenge.

We’ll be focusing on where London is showing leadership, including:

  • business action
  • clean energy
  • climate finance, legal and engineering services
  • climate science and education
  • global collaboration
  • media, culture and communications expertise
  • policy, academic and civil society thought leadership
  • resilience and risk management

If your organisation/group would be interested in hosting an event or participating in the week, please contact [email protected].
