Jonathan Shopley, Managing Director of The CarbonNeutral Company, has led the evolution and expansion of The CarbonNeutral Company since he joined in 2001.  He has been instrumental in promoting collaborative relationships with government, NGOs and industry and was founding co-chair of ICROA.  Prior to joining The CarbonNeutral Company, Jonathan was Managing Director at Arthur D. Little, the technology and management consulting company.

Mr MacGiffin has extensive experience of project-based compliance and voluntary carbon credit transactions and liaises with international standards, registries and governments to advocate, facilitate and educate the role of the carbon markets. He is a regular commentator and presenter on the voluntary carbon markets and environmental finance.

A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a Friend of the Scott Polar Research Institute, enables him to pursue his interest in polar exploration, history, and climate change science. He graduated from Coventry University with a degree in business and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in History from the University of Hertfordshire.
