Janette Wilkinson, Partner, Head of Tax – Infrastructure, Government & Healthcare
Janette joined KPMG in 1985 and became a partner in 1997. She is Head of Tax for the Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare market having previously worked in the information Communication and Entertainment sector. She has extensive experience of working with UK and global companies to help them to achieve their commercial objectives in a tax efficient manner. Janette is also head of the KPMG UK environmental tax and incentive group. In this role she has successfully lobbied on the behalf of a number of clients, including a transport sector operator for the exemption of railway works from the Aggregates Levy, giving significant annuity savings to clients. She also lobbies on behalf of members of the Business Services Association and is often involved in making representations to HMRC, HMT and political parties on proposed changes to environmental taxes and reliefs.

Robert acts as a key advisor on carbon market and climate change issues for KPMG's Environmental Tax and Incentives Group and KPMG's Carbon Advisory Group, which bring together specialists in the firm to advise clients on how they address the opportunities and challenges presented by climate change, with a particular specialism in cap & trade and carbon taxation. He has worked on climate change and carbon market issues for four years, working to develop a carbon markets expertise and offering within KPMG’s tax practice and across the firm.
He has delivered projects to a number of major carbon market players, including advising a major broker on their carbon product operations, structuring Clean Development Mechanism project investments, providing advice on future carbon pricing to an energy major and providing strategic advice to a large car manufacturer on the impacts and opportunities presented by climate change. In his work with CMIA, Robert has made representations regarding the taxation of voluntary market credits, the interaction between tax and trading, carbon market VAT fraud and financial accounting for emissions.
