Andrew Hedges is a Partner in the climate change practice of the international law firm Norton Rose LLP.  Andrew advises on all aspects of a range of clean energy and GHG emission reduction projects and associated emissions trading and other low carbon financial incentive regimes. He is a named recommendation in this sector by Chambers Global. His chapter on “The Secondary Market for Emissions Trading: Balancing Market Design and Market Based Transaction Norms” was recently published by Oxford University. Andrew also has a growing reputation in driving new market mechanisms, such as REDD+. He has strong expertise in the legal systems directly relevant to the emergence of domestic regimes relevant to REDD+, developed through projects in Asia, Latin America and Africa. Clients Andrew and the Norton Rose LLP team work with include investment banks, a range of CSR driven corporates, project developers and host countries.

Luz E Abusaid is a Senior VP within the Carbon Team at BNP Paribas. She joined the bank in 2007 to develop the carbon business in Latin America and increase the regional client base. As such she has successfully developed a strong project pipeline in the region as well as reinforced monitoring of the existent Latin American portfolio. Her previous experience as a Research Analyst at the Centre of Energy and Technology of the Americas provided valuable background preparation for her current role. Ms Abusaid is a Colombian citizen, holds a MBA, a BA in International Relations and attended Law School for 3 years in her native Colombia.
