Andrew Hedges is a London-based climate change and clean energy lawyer working on a range of transactions driven by the ongoing transition to a low carbon economy. He has a particular focus on structured transactions in international carbon markets and the development of wind, solar and biomass projects in the EU. Other aspects of his expertise include forestry projects. As REDD projects become more likely, clients considering involvement in this sector value the expertise Andrew has gained through advising on actual projects.

 

His profile as a talented and innovative lawyer in the carbon finance market has also made him a key asset for the growing number of clean energy projects incorporating carbon finance. Christian is Director- Environmental Markets with BNP Paribas. He joined the bank in 2005 to manage and develop the client base for environmental products, with a focus that includes EU-ETS business and global emissions reductions projects.  In addition to marketing and business development, Christian's role extends to regulatory affiairs, where working through organisations such as CMIA, he has interfaced extensively with policy-makers on both sides of the Atlantic. He is also leading BNP Paribas' early movement into the Forest Carbon space, with a particular focus on REDD.  Previous trading and structuring experience gained in  North American and European energy markets has provided valuable background preparation for his current role. Augmenting his commercial credentials, Christian has gained significant on-the-ground experience working on social & environment-based projects inside Africa. Christian has an MSc in Environmental Science.
